NEWCASTLE 3D Architectural Scanning MATTERPORT™ MAPPING
Bring your project to life.
By using Matterport scanning technology to create your digital twin, we provide you with “as-built” documentation of your projects. There’s no need for you to travel to a worksite, arranging to meet with the construction manager, a project manager, partners, engineers and inspectors. We go in, scan your space and can share the models with you immediately. You get secure 24/7 access to the job site. There’s no need for in-situ measurement because our Pro3 scanner generates a dimensionally accurate, high-density point cloud which you can be imported directly into you CAD package. You can collaborate “in context” with stakeholders and by allowing us to digitise your QA/QC process, you eliminate miscommunication and identify issues before they translate into costs. We can even put some spaces directly onto Google Street View.
By using our digital twin service, you decrease site survey costs, you decrease in-person site visits, you can improve collaboration, speedup decision making and see genuine time and cost savings.
Why wouldn’t you want that for your business?
What sort of files are generated and how can they help my business?
When a scan is made of your property, you get access to the visual data as part of the initial service price. You can use these scans to estimate build progress and generally make a visual inspection of the property.
Depending on your needs though, a range of other files are available from the scan that can assist you design or build process. These include…
MatterPAK File
The MatterPak™ Bundle is for architects, engineers, and construction professionals who want to import these assets into 3D third-party programs (such as 3ds Max, ReCap, Revit, or AutoCAD), perform additional work, and then offer as part of a commercial package to their clients. For example:
Architects and engineers can use the point cloud to quickly create an as-built model and jump-start their designs.
Construction professionals can use the ceiling plan and floor plan images for documentation/verification and building turnover packages, or use the point cloud as a part of the QA/QC process.
These files are only available as an add-on at additional cost.

E57 File
A Matterport .e57 file is a vendor neutral point cloud file that can be imported into most 3D design software. You can now leverage Matterport Digital Twins in your 3D collaborative workflow as the single source of truth for designing, building and managing projects.
These files are only available as an add-on at additional cost.
Owing to file size, a sample download is not available for this file type.
BIM Files
Transform you scans into a 3D REVIT model and 2D CAD file that can be utilised throughout the building’s lifecycle including design phase, construction and then facility management.
BIM files translate spatial data into a LOD 200 building information model in .RVT & .DWG format.
Currently these are available for MOST types of spaces including hospitals, schools, hotels, offices, storage facilities and homes. Contact us with your needs.
These files are only available as an add-on at additional cost.

TruePlan™ for Xactimate®
TruePlan can be used to help in the estimating process when a person is trying to understand the scope of a property loss and the estimated cost of the restoration of that property. Xactimate sketches are used across the insurance loss cycle. Restoration contractors, carriers, estimators and adjusters alike all use TruePlan™ to help understand the conditions of a property when a claim is filed and a restoration project begins.

3D Interior Mapping - Matterport™ Digital Twin FAQ
Our digital twins are produced using the most advanced technology available to the industry.
-
A 3D, digital twin is a visually immersive, accurate, and interactive 3D model of a real-world space. Allowing customers, teams, partners, and stakeholders to virtually interact with a physical property, Matterport’s digital twin platform is revolutionizing the way businesses manage and market their spaces.
-
Digital twins are proving instrumental to different industries. Here are some examples:
For real estate
A digital twin in the form of a 3D virtual tour helps agents earn more by selling properties faster and at a higher price by increasing traffic to online listings3D scans reduce vacancies and streamline rental management. A digital twin will allow you to offer inspections to tenants and assess a property’s condition after a lease has been completed all without the need to attend the property in person
these same scans can subsequently be used to create punch lists for tradespeople to prepare the property for sale or re-letting again, without the need for you to actually attend the property
For architecture, engineering, and construction
A digital twin allows you to record and track the progress of works and save time and money by allowing detailed inspections without the need for staff attendance on site. These same scans then allow you to effectively share progress with owners and collaborators
they capture existing conditions before beginning the design phase of a project. You can replace the lengthy process of obtaining manual measurements with an accurate, fast 3D scan. Once done, you can import the point clouds or.obj directly into your BIM software
a digital twin will speed up subcontractor estimates by eliminating the need for site visits
the scans can then be used to create virtual punch lists by annotating your 3D model with notes, links, photos & videos
For travel, hospitality & holiday rentals
3D tours increase bookings, drive higher occupancy rates, and increase engagement rates
they allow guests to experience your property as though they were there and help you stand out from the crowd
they allow event planners to attend your venue virtually and share the experience with their clients all without the need for a walkthrough
For insurance and restoration
Digital twins are the fastest and most comprehensive loss documentation solution that helps close claims faster, enables remote viewing and adjusting, and reduces disputes in property claims
they present accurate, updatable and easy-to-use documentation that can serve as a single source of truth from initial policy decisions through claims handling
a digital twin will reduce time spent in the field, rectify discrepancies in damage claims, and save time
For facilities management
Digital twins are an efficient, effective way to survey existing buildings, manage maintenance and develop remodelling plans
they provide immersive access to critical building intelligence including accurate measurements of the structure and dimensions of the equipment within
they replace time-consuming manual measurements with a 3D point cloud or OBJ files that can be imported directly into your BIM software
design modifications and upgrades into your 3D render to see how things will work before beginning construction
capture dimensional data to document structure, above ground utilities, and equipment
eliminate hand-drawn sketches and reduce the time it takes to deliver floor plans
improve collaboration between distant teams with a digital twin accessible from anywhere in the world
For public spaces, like museums and galleries
digital twins enable 24/7 access for visitors and help event planners to make better-informed booking decisions by offering a fully immersive, fully detailed 3D vision of the perfect venue.

This will depend on the size and complexity of the area to be scanned. An average home (<200sqm) can usually be scanned in 30 mins to an hour.
